Happy Chinese New Year!

It's CNY again ayeee but I'm spending CNY eve alone and in the midst of cooking instant noodles like damn sad please?!?! It's always during CNY that I wish I could be home and this is already my third CNY that I've spent abroad :'( And I wanna eat all the CNY food!! LJ and I are thinking of going out for dinner tomorrow after class, I have 7 hours of class tomorrow which is absolutely dreadful and we only end at 6pm. But we haven't decided on where to eat yet so shall see HAHA.

Anyway been so busy after coming back from Italy that I haven't posted since Milan! I came back on the 10th Sunday afternoon and K came to pick me up from the gare. Then had classes starting from 11th and was so intense because at the beginning it was still choosing modules so I basically just went for everything and was so tired. Stayed in SXB that weekend, but the following weekend I went to London from 21-24 Jan. Spent 21st Thursday running errands on Oxford Street, 22nd Friday at Bicester and 23rd Saturday with Car then prinks at night with the Wasabi gang. Took the 1am bus to Stansted because my flight was at 7am, then got back to Basel and SXB at about noon. Went for classes then left SXB again for Paris on 28th Thursday for Car's birthday weekend, and J came to join us on Friday. Was good but so rainy the whole time! Also managed to see YX before I left and managed to meet Elles and Evan for brunch on Sunday right before my train so was a nice weekend! I left my towel at YX's place though hahaha gah. Arrived back in SXB in the afternoon. Then went for another 3 days of classes and took a blablacar to Brussels to see V!! Had a mini ESPS reunion in Brussels with A and Vicky and then I took a day trip to Antwerp on Friday because my blablacar got cancelled so I booked another one which leaves in the evening/ Got back on Friday night quite late and went library a bit on Saturday and today has just been packing and sorting out stuff :D

And I've also just had instant noodles for chuxi dinner hahaha fml. K has just woken up so shall see if we can go out for some proper food (I'm still quite hungry) ...

Busy week • TGIF

So glad the week is over, though I'm already starting to panic for next week's work due haha. Tutorials today were pretty alright, the ESPS one was fun and econs wasn't as bad as I had expected. One more week to reading week!

Louhei (?) in hall last night, courtesy of C and E who brought back ingredients all the way from sg and went to Waitrose to get salmon / lending us her room! I realised this was the 3rd time I louhei-ed, the 1st time was during CNY celebrations in HC (I missed the J1 one because of rashes), and the 2nd time was in ANZ last year haha.

Before and after LOL.

Weather is getting nicer these days hooray, taken in Russell Square Gardens otw to Chinatown today. There was also some kind of demonstration going on.

Food post up next maybe tomorrow because there were so many photos and so much food and I need to sort out the photos and I'm really tired now haha.

初二

Dimsum with half the OG yesterday at Golden Dragon. I went once at the beginning of the year with L and M but it's good!! Especially the egg tarts hehe. Chinatown was really crowded and there was a human traffic jam so we were all late. We also went at a rather good timing because after we just sat down there was a lion dance in the restaurant!

Blurry photos because so many people were photobombing omg >:(

Anyway food!!! As usual got tired of taking photos halfway because we were too busy eating. The waitress also kind of messed up our order because we got an extra plate of hargau (?) and no charsiewpau :( In general I feel I have been to very little restaurants with decent service but they still charge the "discretionary" service charge most of the times. But the food was really good!!

Semi-ootd sigh I AWAIT DAYS WHERE I DON'T HAVE TO WEAR A COAT / TIGHTS / BOOTS. Summer please come quick.

After lunch S and V were very nice to walk to Covent Garden with me because I had to collect my Zara order which has been there since last week. Made a mistake asking them to deliver to the Covent Garden store instead of the one at Oxford Street. But anyway it was a top which I re-ordered in a smaller size and the Zara corduroy skinny jeans which I had been looking forward to! I ordered the one in Anthracite grey which doesn't seem to be available online anymore since I had ordered it 2 weeks ago. It was a size 6 and I thought it should be fine since Zara sizes seem to run really big (all the XS shorts are super baggy and keep falling down my waist) but I don't know what's wrong with their jeans and long pants all the trouser legs are so short! The waist was a perfect fit and the material was good too but the length was like L28 or something. I'm pretty sure it didn't look that short on the model.

So yup, very nice fit and all except the length. Still in a dilemma whether or not to keep it as wear as chinos but I guess if I roll up the legs even more they will become capris pants. So far I've found only Topshop and Uniqlo to do decent length jeans because you get to choose L32/33/34 when you order! Uniqlo actually has the perfect length (I wear L33) because Topshop's L32 is kind of short and awkward and L34 is slightly too long so I have to roll up once. Sigh long legs problems. But I did manage to find my pleated tartan skorts and the tulip skirt in orange and a leather panel skirt. :> I love Zara sales!

初一

Happy day 1 of CNY! No holiday for us so I still had 2 tutorials today :< Went to Oxford Street during my break because I had to return a top at Topshop and came back with 3 bags from Zara, H&M and Topshop. H&M is having 20% off for students so I bought a basic T-shirt and a blouse that was on sale, and bought a cami from Topshop which was size 0 and still fitted fine LOL. And 2 skirts and a mini skort from Zara! I know I have it back in sg already but it was only £9.99 and I figured I wouldn't have to wait until summer to wear it.

No OOTD today because it's too cold to dress up and lighting was bad since it was dark and raining. So jelly of everyone who's been posting pictures of their glamorous outfits (SKIRTS AND DRESSES WITH BARE LEGS I cannot begin to express how much I dislike wearing tights or any fabric on my legs) / GATHERINGS WITH FAMILY FRIENDS RELATIVES / ABUNDANCE OF FOOD. Sigh. My highlight of the day was dinner with hallmates at Leong's Legend in Chinatown. Been craving Chinese food for so long and finally had some today!! I was too busy eating thus explains the lack of photos as the meal progressed. It was really good though, prices are around standard London Chinese food price aye.

Ended the meal with a kiwi smoothie from Boba Jam. They're really generous with the jelly and the poppings omg I love the poppings they are amazing.

Really tired now so good night!! x

Happy Chinese New Year :>

Happy CNY! Rainy view from my place sigh times like this I really miss sg a lot and this was the loneliest / most depressing CNY Eve I've ever had in my whole life :( Miss watching 春晚 back home with the fam even though I always get distracted at the parts I'm not interested in HAHA. And eating dumplings and snacking and eating MANDARIN ORANGES and how my dad would let us drink as many cans of Coke as we wanted even though I don't drink Coke so mom always bought other drinks for me. First out of at least 4 years of CNY abroad. I never thought of moments like this when I made my decision back then.

Anyhow I have just watched the whole 5 hours of 春晚 alone and skipped the 京剧 parts because I really cannot understand ... Also substituted bubble tea with 80p milk tea from Chinatown and mandarin oranges with clementines sigh student life HAHA I am going to sleep now because I have a tutorial at 10am tomorrow. Always good to prepare early I did my prep on Tuesday so that I could free up Thursday night to watch the show hehe. :> Happy prosperous year of the Horse!
